The Industrial Metaverse (IMv) is the concept of a digital world to mirror and simulate real machines and factories, buildings and cities, grids and transportation systems.
Working closely in the IMv, I designed immersive intelligent experiences to assist the user in specific industrial tasks. The nature of the metaverse gave me the freedom to explore unique ways of interactions.
The different assistive experiences that were addressed under Assisted Experiences were:
Empathetic Assistance - Personification of machines
Interactive Assistance - Physics applications on the metaverse
Conversational and Navigational Assistance - Immersive intelligence
The following images depict these various explorations.

Empathetic Assistance
To provide a more intuitive functionality, the interactions were “personified” - each element in the system was given an identity. This process included the application of empathic computing for an overall “personification of machines”.

Metaverse of a brewery displays critical information on tanks for immediate identification.
Each tank has its own display that “talks” to the user.

Interactive Assistance
This project developed experiences for users during interactions in the IMv. By incorporating the principles of physics, the interfaces were made more realistic and the interactions thus provided a more streamlined experience, specific to each task.

Conversational and Navigational Assistance
By introducing intelligence in the metaverse, a basic model was developed that provided conversational and navigational assistance to the users in the IMv. Various methods of interaction with this model was explored.

Can specific gestures on a physical device convert it to a particular object in the IMv?
Interactive relationship between Physical <> Digital realms was explored.

Design of the UX Vision Architecture
After pioneering experiences for the Industrial Metaverse, it was important to define the User Experience Vision Architecture and develop a consistent design system. The graphical representation of the UX Vision Architecture of Siemens is depicted here.
